World Football Daily: Reaction To United And Madrid
On Monday I wrote about referees and the help they need in order to make their performance as good as it could possibly be. By strange coincidence, I witnessed one of the worst refereeing decisions I’ve ever seen on Tuesday night when Real Madrid came to Old Trafford and Nani was sent off.
I’ve seen Nani control the ball like that hundreds of times and it was really an incredible decision to send him off. Crazy. It turned the tie. United were in control of the game and in my opinion were set to score the next goal of the game which would have been decisive. But, we all know what happened, and the referee dropped a clanger. I agreed with Jose Mourinho who said the best team lost but I don’t agree with Roy Keane – I’m not sure if he was just being controversial for the sake of it.
Oliver of WorldFootballDaily invited me on to his show in the aftermath of the game and I wanted to share the segment with my website readers to see what you thought. Apologies for the occasional audio drop-outs.
See you Monday – hopefully after United get to the FA Cup semi finals. And all the best for Millwall on Sunday too. Thanks – Gordon.
